Involvement in Chamber activities provides access to top business leaders and Government Ministers and officials.
 
Branch Network
This means that with the Chamber’s Branch network in Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, members can develop good business contacts state-wide.
 
As the appointed Sole Representative of the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) in Sarawak. The Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is well represented at the national and international level. Both Chambers are regularly consulted by the Government on issues related to the business community. This provides opportunities for members’ views and concerns to be heard.

All member companies feature in the Members’ Directory which is widely circulated locally and abroad.
 
Import/Export Opportunities
Regular notices are circulated on business opportunities available - importers / exporters wanted, tender notices, etc.
 
Information
Regular circulars on business information and Government policies are circulated to members by both the SCCI and the MICCI.
 
Standing Committees
The SCCI has established 17 Standing Committees namely Tourism & Services, State & Relations International Investment, Membership & Regional Committes, Information & Communications Technology, Legal Matters & Immigration, Construction & Property Development, Social & Public Relations, Trade, Manufacturing & SMES, Utilities & Infrastructure, Human Resource Development & Education, Financial Services & Environment Agriculture & Food Industries, Awards & Taxation, Communications & Publications, Transportation & Logistic & Hi-Tech & Bio-Tech to monitor and pursue respective issues.

Access to both the SCCI and the MICCI home-page on the Web-site and members can have their own web-sites linked to the SCCI’s and MICCI’s http://www.scci.org.my and http://www.micci.com.my respectively.
 
Networking
The members can involve themselves in Chamber’s activities and this would provide opportunities for business contact and networking and access to latest business information and opportunities.
 
Link With Other Chambers and Associations
The SCCI works closely with the other local and foreign Chambers of Commerce and Industry and serves as a link to other business groups.
 
Publications
Members receive free of charge essential publications such as the SCCI members’ circulars and newsletters, the monthly MICCI bulletin and circulars.
 
Representation
The MICCI is currently represented on more than 90 Government and private sector committees and work groups which in turn provide opportunities for members to participate on these committees and work groups.
 
MICCI Membership
SCCI members are accepted as Members of the MICCI.
 
PERKESO (Social Security Organisation)
SCCI is represented in PERKESO Board of Directors since Year 1997.
 
MEF (Malaysian Employers Federation)
SCCI is a Council Member of MEF since October 2002.
 
Established in 1959, MEF is the central organization of private sector employers in Malaysia. MEF provides a forum for consultation among members on matters of common interest and seeks the adoption of sound principles and practices of human resources (HR) and industrial relations (IR) through advice, training and research activities.
